In celebration of Foster Care Month, Jerry Kennedy and his
band of funketeers played at Maxwell's Lounge on
May 2nd. Former foster youth were there as guest speakers
to discuss the realities of life post emancipation.

Jerry's group played from 9:30 - 11pm, immediately
followed by DJ and dancing.

So thanks to all of you who come on over to Oakland to mix it up with
us on the dance floor to help a good cause.

Fosters Assisting Fosters held their end of the
year fundraiser on December 12th 2007 and everyone
had a blast!

The event was held at The Elbo Room in San Fransisco
and featured live entertainment from Funk/Soul band
What It Is, Jazz fusion master Kai Eckhardt (Garaj Majal),
Saxaphonist Paul Hanson (Bella Fleck), Zoe Ellis , Dl Delon
and the Hip Hop Allstar dance troop!

'SUMMER SOUL JAM' EVENT, FAF LAUNCH PARTY

Come join your Host and featured entertainment Jerry Kennedy/ J-soul at
a benefit for Fosters Assisting Fosters . (A non profit organization that trains
former foster youth to mentor current foster youth) . Come celebrate the
launching of this organization!

Entrance fee is $10 + your donation of $1 or more ! We will be serving
appetizers and wine early (or you can order off the menu). The evening will
feature Maxwell's "Southern Soul cuisine" with some cool vibes mixed in
with a side of tight instrumental jazz and soul! Performed with an infused
combination of Jerry kennedy and his band J-Soul. (Come savor the selection)...

A presentation on FAF featuring Guest speakers and inspirational community
leaders (tba) . The evening will toped with a healthy dose original and old skool classic "Funk Fusion and Soul", performed by the band. The Dj will be spinning
some tasty treats in-between ... So, come get the groove on while supporting a
great cause!

Maxwell's has a dress code so... put on something nice :)!
